To plot the site progress of a large new shopping complex in central Belfast.
Issues
It was decided that the best way to get an effective overview of such a large project was by means of aerial photography.
Solution
We overflew the site at 3 monthly intervals and took a series of views through 360°. Proofs were submitted to the client who then selected the views most suitable for a progress report document. Other views were used by the main contractors, the architect and the PR company associated with the project.
Time Lapse photography
As a separate part of the same project we were also asked to undertake time lapse photography showing the erection of a glazed dome. This was achieved by mounting an intervalometer equipped digital camera in a weatherproof structure on the roof of an adjacent building. We made weekly visits to download the images and also to make sure the camera was functioning properly. Fortunately the housing was able to withstand several winter storms.
